Special Cargopequeno_cargo

Special cargo includes goods that must fulfill certain requirements of packaging, documentation, previous cargo space booking and special handling to be transported.


Special cargo: live animals, dangerous goods, perishable goods, human remains, incubated eggs, plasma and blood, press material, guns, human organs for transplantation.

Live animals

The acceptance of live animals transportation is determined by the IATA Live Animal Regulations Manual and the carrier’s internal regulations. Therefore, and in view of the great coordination implied on this kind of transportation, transport acceptance is required in advance.

Required documents:

  • Sender’s certificate (provided by TAME).
  • A rabies vaccination certificate (cats and dogs).
  • For international flights, the rabies vaccination certificate must be valid for 6 months maximum and be legalized by the consulate of destination country.
  • Air transport authorization issued by Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (SESA).

Packing of live animals

Packaging must be clean, impervious, spill proof, leak proof, so that there is a safe handling during transport.

The container floor must be fitted with a layer allowing absorption of animal excrements. .

The use of straw as absorbent material should be avoided, given that many countries forbid the entry of straw as a vector for pests in agriculture.

Animal’s health and conditions

Animals to be transported must not show signs of illness.

The transportation of animals in late gestation is forbidden.

Non-incinerated human remains

Document requirements:

  • Copy of death certificate.
  • Copy of corpse formolization certificate.
  • Copy of health certificate stating that death was not caused by an infectious disease.

Packaging on domestic flights

Coffin sealed with at least 6 handles for handling.

Packaging on international flights

Lead or zinc coffin must be duly soldered inside a wooden coffin, and this in turn, must be in a third wood or pressed cardboard box, which must have sufficient handles.

Additional information

Arrangements and reservations must be made at the TAME CARGO office in advance.

Human remains will be received at least an hour and a half prior flight departure.

Special cargo transportation is available only on direct routes.
